Uninsured and Underinsured motorist coverage- why do I have to pay more for other people’s problems?

Would you be covered if an uninsured driver did this to your vehicle?

Imagine you are driving around your city running errands with your kids in the car. On the way to the store you are injured in a car accident where the other driver does not have insurance or does not have enough insurance to cover your injuries.

This instance above is exactly what #uninsured/#underinsured #motorist’s #coverage is on your policy. Generally, this covers injuries or damage sustained to you, your family members or your passengers caused by another driver that doesn’t have any or adequate coverage. It can also cover pedestrians if they are struck by one of these drivers.

In #Colorado- this is an optional coverage. But your friends at Riverside Insurance make this a mandatory part of your coverage. We want to protect you at all points on the road from all those other drivers out there. According to a 2015 study, up to 16.2% of Colorado drivers were uninsured, let alone people who are underinsured for a larger wreck.

So no matter if you choose #Riverside Insurance or not, make sure you choose Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage on your next auto insurance policy!
